Job Title: Welder

Reports To: Site Supervisor / Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Welder is responsible for assembling metal components and repairing damaged structures using manual and semi-automatic welding equipment. This role requires precision, technical skill, and a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety standards. Welders interpret blueprints, prepare materials, and execute welds in various positions to ensure structural integrity and quality

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welding Preparation & Setup
  • Read blueprints and technical drawings to plan layout and procedures
  • Take accurate measurements and prepare components for welding
  • Determine appropriate welding methods and equipment based on project requirements
  • Cut materials using powered saws and prepare surfaces with angle grinders
  1. Welding Execution
  • Align and clamp components using calipers, rulers, and other measuring tools
  • Weld metal components using manual or semi-automatic equipment (e.g., TIG, MMA)
  • Perform welds in various positions including vertical, horizontal, and overhead
  • Fill gaps and repair machinery or structural components through welding
  1. Inspection & Quality Control
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify flaws or defects
  • Ensure welds meet quality and safety standards
  • Maintain welding equipment in safe working conditions
  1. Safety & Collaboration
  • Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear (e.g., face shield, gloves)
  • Work alongside other tradespeople to complete fabrication or repair tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards

Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Proven experience as a welder in industrial, commercial, or fabrication settings
  • Successful completion of applicable welding tests

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in TIG, MMA, and other welding techniques
  • Skilled in using electrical and manual tools (saws, squares, calipers)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents

Soft Skills

  • High attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficient in English
  • Willingness to work in various positions and environments

Certifications & Requirements

  • AWS Welding Certification or equivalent (preferred)
  • Background check clearance

Job Summary:

The Flux Core Welder is responsible for performing high‑quality FCAW welding on structural steel, plate, piping, or fabricated components according to project specifications. This role requires strong technical welding skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in industrial environments such as fabrication shops, refineries, plants, and construction sites.

1. Welding Preparation & Setup

Duties

  • Travel to multiple locations to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and building systems.
  • Diagnose/Repair mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients and team members.
  • Travel to different job sites to perform carpentry work, including construction, repairs, installations, and renovations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, drywall, metal stud and other materials to meet project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions.
  • Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and ensure quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience in a wide range of tasks including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC maintenance, carpentry, and general repairs of building systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.
  • Must reside locally in the KC Metro area.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • This position requires frequent interaction with clients, assessing project needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to travel out of town/state frequently.
